crossword

Nothing says “Christmas” quite like the arrival of the Royal Statistical Society’s fiendishly difficult quiz. But if you’d prefer something a little more relaxing this holiday season, Significance has you covered.

Our friends in the American Statistical Association’s History of Statistics Interest Group put together a crossword puzzle for this year’s Joint Statistical Meetings in Vancouver, and they have kindly agreed to share it with our readers as a fun way to bring 2018 to a close.

The focus of the puzzle is famous statisticians in history, and while we would never encourage anyone to cheat, you might want to dig into our archive of articles – especially our Timeline of Statistics – to help fill in the blanks.

If you fancy something a little more challenging, make sure to try the cryptic crosswords that appear in each issue of Significance. We have puzzles going back to 2004, available for free in our archive.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from all of us at Significance. Thank you for reading througout 2018, and we look forward to welcoming you back in 2019.
